Schwartz specializes in reconstructive surgery and disorders of the hand, elbow, and shoulder. Schwartz served as a lecturer and clinical instructor for the Clinical Optometry Program in Singapore and is a speaker for Alcon Contact Lenses as well as Allergan’s Glaucoma division. Additionally, he received a Certificate of Added Qualification for Hand Surgery. “I enjoy being able to help patients who want to wear contact lenses but have some issues that make it challenging for them to be fitted properly,” he said.ĭr. Schwartz has a special interest in complex contact lens cases and has deep experience with scleral lenses and hybrid contact lenses for hard-to-fit contact lens patients. Following a primary care residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, he established himself as an eye doctor in Las Vegas.ĭr. Schwartz completed his fellowship in Endocrinology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Schwartz attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1999. Schwartz’s leadership, there has been a major increase in the breadth of cardiology clinical and research activities, resulting in the Division of Cardiology’s attaining international prominence and emerging as one of the leading cardiology training centers in the United States.Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Schwartz has been the driving force behind the development of the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center Cardiovascular Service Line and the development of the new Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center. He lives in Frisco with his wife and daughter.

Schwartz is the team physician for the Allen Americans professional hockey team, Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco and a consultant for the Dallas Sidekicks professional indoor soccer team. He has progressively assumed various leadership and administrative roles serving as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Associate Director of the Division of Cardiology and the Seymour Milstein and Harold Ames Hatch Professor of Clinical Medicine. Schwartz has been vigorously involved in patient care, education of medical students, medical housestaff and cardiology fellows, as well as clinical research with a current focus on valvular heart disease. Schwartz returned to the College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1978 as an academic clinical cardiologist.ĭr. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Presbyterian Hospital and he received a fellowship in clinical and research cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
